THE APARTMENT

This professionally designed contemporary home is move-in ready for a lucky buyer seeking a true loft, in an impressive building of historic significance. Enter the long foyer galley and notice the coat closet and reclaimed wooden bench to your left. The large living area (16'5 x 22' 7), has exposed brick, and is flanked by the two bedrooms on opposite ends - a perfect split layout. The spectacular chef's kitchen has high-end appliances, a water filtration system both for drinking and ice, custom cabinetry, and stone countertops. The smaller sleep area (7'6 x 9' 2) is perfect for overnight guests or an office, as it is very versatile space -- concealed by a sliding glass panel system, and includes clever storage units. The sunny large en suite master bedroom (15'11 x 16'6) has a built-in work station, and a unique mobile book shelf system. In the master bedroom, there is plenty of space to create a very large wardrobe storage system on the wall that is adjacent to the living area. Both spa bathrooms have mosaic tiles and wall mounted European fixtures; one room has a huge glass paneled walk-in shower with double rain shower heads, and one room has a cast iron deep soaking tub. There are eight oversized loft windows allowing for brilliant eastern and northern light, engineered concrete floors, central HVAC, in unit washer and dryer laundry center, and everything is pre-wired for the latest technology and surround sound system acoustics. At street level, a side valet entrance makes for easy deliveries. Maintenance includes, water, gas, radiator heat, 24-hr. doormen, porters, and live-in superintendent. Welcome home to Liberty Tower, a pet friendly and full service cooperative.

THE BUILDING

Built in 1909, and designed by Henry Ives Cobb, Liberty Tower is one of the early romantic skyscrapers that changed the skyline of Manhattan. It is a 33 story Gothic Revival landmark building in the Financial District. Over the years its office tenants included the Sinclair Oil Company and a precursor of the accounting firm of Coopers Lybrand. It's ornate English Gothic design was copied on a larger scale, with variations, three years later by Cass Gilbert for the famous Woolworth Building, facing City Hall Park. In 1980, the conversion of Liberty Tower introduced residential use to the Financial District. Joseph Pell Lombardi, as both architect and investor, designed the interiors, restored the historic elements, and converted the building to 89 residential units.
